The initiative to update Huntington UFSD’s strategic plan continued this week when more than 50 staff, faculty, parents and school related organization representatives met to review the feedback provided by the community, refine the district’s vision, mission and core values and begin setting the stage for the priorities that will be included in the HUFSD’s Strategic Plan.

Huntington’s Esports Gaming Club Recruiting Members
Huntington High School’s Esports Gaming Club is up and running and in the preliminary stages of recruiting members. Esports is the popular name given to electronic sports, which involve competitive video game competitions. Organized high school and college teams are becoming increasingly common across the country.

Trustees Authorize Youth Court Participation

The Huntington School Board unanimously approved an agreement with the Town of Huntington for participation in the town’s youth court program. The district committed to the town and related agencies “access to school buildings for the purpose of meeting with students, obtaining student volunteers, training student volunteers and as otherwise reasonably necessary.”

The J. Taylor Finley Middle School boys’ soccer “blue” team battled its foes hard in all 10 games. Win or lose, the 26 player strong squad kept the pressure on the opposing defense. Indeed, Finley scored 13 goals in games that it lost and was never held scoreless in any contest.
